Dear Alan Ball,
I wish Lorena was alive so she could kidnap Bill and keep him from Eric and Sookie!
OK, can someone please explain this to me? I am so TIRED of reading on sites from fans and critics who keep thinking that the main plot, the whole point, the entire gist of True Blood is the romance between Bill and Sookie. People, people, people, please stop. THAT IS NOT THE POINT. Bill and Sookie’s romance is not the driving force of the show. Now, you can argue that it started that way. You could even argue that the love triangle between Bill, Sookie, and Eric is the driving force (even that I would take some issue with), but it is not (hear me) not Bill and Sookie’s relationship. I’m not just saying this because this is the truth in the books (which it is by the way). I’m saying this because the show is about Sookie and the people of Bon Temps who represent a small fragment of the world currently dealing with the now open vampire community and rest of the secret supernatural world. Now, Bill was Sookie’s introduction to the vampire world, but anyone could have taken that role, and he has thus proved he is not deserving of it. So, please. Please, people. The show does not live on the life of Sookie and Bill’s relationship. If he died (God I hope so) there really would not be much change to the basic premise, which is the aforementioned Sookie and her friends’ dealings with this now supernatural world. The show would not implode if they never got back together. It would only improve.
